Scope of Executive MBA in India – Top Institutes offering executive MBA, Eligibility
An Executive MBA program is a Master of Business Administration program designed for people that are already in high level management positions. The classes tend to meet on nights and weekends and the projects required are designed to be tied in to the student's work at his job.
For example; a statistics class might have a requirement for a research project. Instead of assigning some random theoretical research task, the task will be tied into real requirements at the student's job. Where a student in a usual MBA program's admin course might write a business plan for some imaginary company, an Executive MBA student would write a plan for a real project his company is considering implementing.
Basically, an Executive MBA course or as they call it an EMBA, is designed in a way so as to help business executives & aspired graduates climb up the management ladder & improve their current skill set by working while on job. The benefit of an executive MBA program is that you get open to various career prospects, get wide opportunities of placement options & even be able to negotiate your salary in your current workspace & get a promotion
You can opt for a one year/ two year executive MBA course, the one year program being a little more talked about these days. However, MBA professors do complain that MBA being a vast field, one year is not enough to instill all of the required knowledge in the candidate.
Well, when you invest so much, you do have to consider its pros and cons too & your ability to manage socio - economic & academic pressure that may arise due to heavy projects & work load.
Some of the best MBA colleges offering these program are :
1) ISB, Hyderabad2) ISB, Mohali
3) IIM Ahmedabad
4) IIM Bangalore
5) XLRI Jamshedpur
6) IIM Kolkata
7) Great Lakes, Chennai
8) SP Jain, Mumbai
9) SOIL, Gurgaon
You may consider the various factors while opting for an MBA programme- course content and structure, faculty, peer group, location, placements, brand value of the college, batch size and management. Each one of us thinks about the placements at first. But before opting a course, we suggest to try to visualize in terms of the transformation a course can bring out in you and placements will follow then.
