Another amazing fightback by Dhoni, along with Hardik Pandya gives India 26 run win (D/L Method)

India 281 for 7 (Pandya 83, Dhoni 79, Coulter-Nile 3-44) beat Australia 137 for 9 in 21 overs (Maxwell 39, Chahal 3-30, Pandya 2-28) by 26 runs (DLS method)


India vs Australia 2017 1st ODI: So, India scored 281 for 7 wicket. MS Dhoni (79) and Hardik Pandya (83) was the star batsman for India.The five-match One Day  International (ODI) series between India and Australia started today 17 september 2017. 


Virat Kolhi won the toss and decided to bat first. Rahane and Rohi Sharma Open the Innings for India. Indian top order failed to score runs and loss wickets in regular  Intervals. 

Nathan Coulter-Nile was the Star bowler for Australia. He dismissed Rahane (5), Kolhi (0) and Manish Pandey (0) with in First 6 overs (India 11/3). Rohit Sharma and Kedhar Jadav added 53 runs for 4th wicket partnership. Marcus Stoinis dismissed both Rohit Sharma (28) and Kedhar Jadav (40) with his short ball. India struggled to score runs (87/5) in 20 overs.



 On a pitch with more bounce than your average Indian ODI surface, Pandya's sensational six-hitting combined with MS Dhoni's pragmatism to lift India from 87 for 5, but persistent drizzle converted the 282-run target into theoretically easier 164 in 21 overs. 


Australia couldnt chase 164 runs in 21 overs. 

Chasing, Australia scored 35 for loss of 4 wickets in 8th over. Only Maxwell showed some fight and  hit three consecutive sixes in Kuldeep Yadev over. Finally Chalal Dismissed dangerous Maxwell (39 runs, 18 Balls, 4 Sixes) with his leg spin. They managed only 137 /9 in 21 overs. Australia were all at sea against India wristspinners. Chalal (3/30) Kuldeep (2/33) claimed combined figures of 9-0-63-5.



Chalal was star bowler for India to took 3 wicket (Maxwell, Wade and Cummings). Kuldeep and Pandya took two wickets each. 

Hardik Pandya is Man of the Match for his Career-best 83 with the wickets of Smith and Head.


India win the Series Opener by 26 runs (D/L method).
